The Senior IT Project Manager oversees complex, cross-functional IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals. They apply system analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with sponsors, stakeholders and end users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications. Using this information, they recommend project plans - directing the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, and testing for the implementation or modification of technology systems and software.
In addition, the person in this role will design key training sessions based on and related to user or system design specifications, while maintaining accountability for managing scope, risks, cost, schedule, internal/external staffing, vendors, deliverables, lessons learned and project closure. Throughout the process, they'll monitor project milestones and generate periodic status reports for the project team and leadership.
In this role, you will:
- Develop proposals for the implementation of new software, hardware, and operating procedures in coordination with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Determine the cost of development and implementation of new methods of operation, including staffing requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, detailing scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Lead and participate in various IT projects, including software and hardware system installations, upgrades, and conversions. Obtain resources from other departments depending on specialties.
- Coordinate key relationships with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and sponsors, establishing an appropriate meeting cadence with applicable team(s) and leadership.
- Ensure accountability with all members of the project team.
- Maintain coordination with the IT Development Department to ensure all technical aspects of software/hardware implementations and upgrades are completed adequately and on time.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure project deliverables meet requirements and align with organizational strategies.
- Partner with Training to ensure that end users are trained appropriately, including documentation.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Requirements

- 7 or more years of IT project management experience
- PMI or other project management type certification preferred (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, Six Sigma).
Our ideal candidate will also:
- Have experience in operations in a wholesale distribution business.
- Knowledge of business operations in Sales, Inventory Management, and Purchasing.
- Have experience with Microsoft Office 365 (MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and OneDrive), as well as Jira and/or other project management software/tools. Experience with ServiceNow preferred.
- Possess a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and project management methodologies (both traditional and agile).
- Have proven experience managing complex technical projects, with a focus on planning, execution, and delivery.
- Experience with SAP, Epicor Eclipse, Boomi preferred.
- Possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Have excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written) to facilitate effective collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues proactively and make informed decisions.
- Be able to troubleshoot and find creative solutions to overcome project challenges.
- Have a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
- Be willing to travel, up to 25%.
