Job description

The Tepa Companies are seeking an Operations Engineering Data Management / Asset Collection Specialist to perform various data quality assurance responsibilities and on a recurring task-oriented basis.

Job Functions:

  • Performs standard recurring Information Technology tasks and utilizes Microsoft Office applications to support data integrity, conduct data validation checks, and maintain accurate system records.
  • Serves as a skilled Operations Engineering Technician conducting field inspections and asset collection activities across Architectural, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines to gather new equipment information and update existing equipment data.
  • Conducts final Quality Control reviews of Operations Engineering Program equipment data inputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.
  • Collects, organizes, and maintains equipment documentation, technical records, and asset inventories in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Assists with updating and maintaining engineering databases, spreadsheets, and tracking systems to support operational efficiency and reporting needs.
  • Coordinates with internal departments, field personnel, and project teams to verify equipment information and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Reviews and interprets equipment specifications, drawings, and field documentation to ensure accurate asset identification and classification.
  • Supports asset management initiatives by performing audits, reconciling inventory records, and identifying missing or inaccurate equipment data.
  • Prepares reports, summaries, and status updates related to asset collection activities, inspection findings, and data quality metrics.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards, operational procedures, and safety requirements while performing field inspections and data collection activities.
  • Provides technical and administrative support for Operations Engineering projects, including data entry, document management, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities to improve data collection methods, reporting accuracy, and overall quality control processes.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Trade school?, * Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational or technical training in facilities maintenance, HVAC systems, or energy management preferred.

  • Experience in maintenance, inspections, and database systems for facilities is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with facility management software or work order systems (NexGen).
  • Proficiency in Personal Computing (Microsoft Windows Environment) and use of IT systems (NexGen System and Sustainment Management System)
  • Capable of extracting and maintaining reports from CE IT systems, generating queries, performing data Back-ups, extracting information for responding to customer requests.
  • Preferred Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office: MS Access and Excel); General Knowledge of Data SQL (Standard Query Language)
  • Proficiency and General Knowledge of Building Systems and Organization: General Knowledge and ability to identify non-specialized building components (Examples: Doors, and roofs by material, Electrical Panels, Mechanical assets such as Fans, Motors, Pumps, HVAC, and Plumbing Equipment) (Facility Assets organized per Uniformat II)
