Job description

The Information Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of computer systems at CCCS, Inc. operations in Montana, Washington and North Dakota.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assists in the design, revision, development and implementation of CCCS, Inc policies and procedures as they apply to Information Systems.

  2. Assists in the physical design, development, implementation and management of all CCCS, Inc. computer network systems.

  3. Ensures all Information System policies and procedures comply with corporate policies.

  4. Compiles reports and statistical information as requested by appropriate staff ensuring all reports are thorough, concise and timely.

  5. Ensures the methods used for receipt, safeguarding, disbursing and recording of any and all CCCS, Inc. information comply with accepted professional practices.

  6. Performs the necessary record keeping for purposes of internal controls relative to Information System purchases.

  7. Provides staff training and in-service development as directed.

  8. Demonstrates knowledge and responsibility in performance of duties as prescribed by facility procedures

Other Job Functions:

All other Duties as assigned by the Director of Secure Facilities and Juvenile Programs.

Required Annual Training:

Employees new to CCCS, Inc. will complete (40) hours of training relevant to their position during the first year of employment.

The Information Specialist is required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training during each year of employment. A minimum of thirty (30) hours must include training specific to the employment assignment. Additional training hours may be required for disciplinary, emergency, or program-need reasons as determined by the supervisor.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are inside a climate-controlled environment with occasional background noise. Occasional travel may be required.

The Information Specialist works five (5), eight (8)-hour shifts per week.

Considerable documentation and paperwork requirements exist. The Information Specialist must be able to organize and manage time effectively and keep records orderly and up to date.

Material and Equipment Used:

Computer; telephone; printer; fax machine; general office supplies.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:

Approximately 70% of time is spent seated while working at a desk or in meetings. Balance of time (approximately 30%) is spent standing or moving around working areas.

: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary with the public, contacts, and co-workers.

Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for effective use of computer screens.

Requirements

Good manual dexterity for computer keyboard use and the ability to retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Answer help desk calls and document resolutions.

  2. Proficient with Windows Domain controllers with AD, and Microsoft Office and Office 365.

  3. Strong understanding of routing, IP protocols, and other technical proficiencies.

  4. Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time and properly prioritize the order in which they are resolved

  5. Troubleshoot software and applications, including but not limited to: general PC/workstation support, basic network troubleshooting, and AV support. Able to assist with installations and upgrades of a wide range of software and applications., 16. The ability to work individually and as part of team.

  6. The ability to collaborate within a team on a wide variety of projects.

  7. Assist with IT infrastructure deployment of all new buildings, sites, and remodels.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Preferred:

A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science or other equivalent experience.

Experience Required:

Demonstrated experience in a professional information system capacity is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in an office setting performing the high-level computer/networking duties.

  2. Experience in information systems analysis.

Benefits & conditions

Pay: $33.50 - $38.00 per hour
