The Quality Assurance Technician of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. The quality assurance technician provides a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety for producing our almond product. Being a producer of food products, the quality assurance technician is aware of risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms quality standards, proper packaging, proper labeling, all receiving, and shipments are properly inspected, and all documentation is correct and accurate. The quality assurance technician is trained in various areas pertaining to the job required., * Verify production schedule and have knowledge of what products are being produced/running at the beginning of each shift.
- Responsible for documenting down time and inventory tracking forms to forward all paperwork into Quality Assurance team.
- Must be able to complete work required documents: QA documents, metal detector sheets, almond dump report, x-ray sheets, and weight check sheets.
- Must be able to collect samples for retains and for micro samples and be able to record and or document.
- Send out samples for testing with proper and accurate paperwork.
- Have a basic and general understanding of HACCP, SQF requirements, operating procedures, and Food Safety Sanitation.
- Must be able to determine if a product needs to be placed on hold and document same at time of holding product and or if product needs to be reworked.
- Maintain visual preliminary and post operational sanitation of weekly inspections of production to ensure food safety, or as needed.
- Maintain correct labeling and nutritional requirements on all products by following Allergen Control Program.
- Run hourly color check on all finished product and record by color and lot number.
- Must have data entry skills to produce reports, build files, and label printing.
- Assist QA Manager and Supervisor as needed.
- Clean work area and prepare for next shift.
- Follow all sanitation schedules including weekends and or clean break.

- Work with team members maintaining daily sanitation by cleaning work area at end of shift.

- Assists in identifying and or reporting non-conforming product to aid in eliminating waste.

Additional Sanitation Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure all chemical containers are labeled and used in the correct way.
- Ensure overall compliance and adherence to sanitation schedule and or requirements., * Degree of Physical Demands (Strength) associated with the essential functions of this job classification are as follows. Medium work exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work. Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break).

Work Environment: Combination of manufacturing environment along with duties that will require employee to work in a production/plant environment where physical hazards such as industrial equipment and forklifts may be present.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 year's food manufacturing experience.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
- Ability to clearly present recommendations/ideas and to summarize issues.
- Ability to appropriately handle and maintain confidential material.
- Experience in quality assurance in food manufacturing preferred.
- Must be able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to visit other sister manufacturing locations as needed.
Skills/Competencies:
- Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Second language (Spanish), a strong plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None Required. HACCP certifications one year after placement/hire and SQF certifications, as needed., * High school or equivalent (Required), * Quality assurance: 1 year (Preferred)
