Job description
HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a IT Project Manager that oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and other stakeholders. This position is responsible for reviewing the status of projects and budgets, managing schedules, and preparing status reports. The IT Project Manager assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives, while developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients., * Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing IT projects from initiation through completion; communicating project stats to customers and HII PMO team
- Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team
- Keeps current on advances in the field of IT. Adheres to all IT governance policies and procedures
- Serve as primary liaison between project management and planning, project team, and government stakeholders
- Review status of projects and budgets to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Manage project schedules and ensure adherence to timelines
- Prepare comprehensive status reports / deliverables for stakeholders at various management levels
- Develop and implement mechanisms for monitoring project progress and performance metrics
- Assess project issues and identify root causes of problems
- Develop effective resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints
- Monitor technical performance and quality of work packages throughout project lifecycle
Requirements
- 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
- Competence is required in a specialized or technological field related to IT project management
- Full working knowledge of project management procedures and practices
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Ability to oversee projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees
- Manages experienced professionals (e.g. engineers, scientists, financial analysts) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Effective leadership and team management capabilities
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- Risk management and mitigation expertise
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TESA approval, * Bachelor's degree in related field plus 6 years of relevant progressive experience, OR Master's degree in related field plus 4 years of relevant progressive experience, OR High School Diploma or equivalent plus 10 years of relevant progressive experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- IT-related certifications (ITIL, Agile/Scrum certification, etc.)
- Experience managing large-scale IT projects
- Background in system development or technical services contracts
