Job description

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering advanced maritime and defence technology solutions. The organisation specialises in the design and development of cutting-edge sonar and anti-submarine warfare systems used in naval operations worldwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with early career experience to gain exposure across the full systems engineering lifecycle while contributing to complex, mission-critical projects in a highly innovative environment., * Support the delivery of systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to in-service support

  • Assist with requirements capture, analysis, and management activities
  • Contribute to system design, integration, verification, and validation processes
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and systems engineering artefacts
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, hardware, and mechanical engineering
  • Support system testing to ensure performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness
  • Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and engineering discussions
  • Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues throughout project delivery

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience within a Systems Engineering or related engineering role
  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and methodologies such as the V-Model
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within defence, maritime, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
  • Knowledge of systems integration and verification activities
  • Familiarity with modelling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or SysML
  • Understanding of configuration management and change control processes
