Job description
You will join an exciting project that aims to refactor and optimise an existing scientific research code. This code simulates the deposition of carbonate sediments and the resulting geology in a range of settings. The code is used in both academia and industry and this project is funded by an industrial partner. This is a fixed-term post with a specified end-date of 30th April 2028. Key duties involve refactoring and optimising existing code using modern software development processes. You will also be responsible for reporting progress to stakeholders and the project team in both written and verbal forms. Documentation and training others on the use of the software will also form part of your role.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Key qualifications and skills are an undergraduate degree in numerate subject or equivalent experience in a numerate subject, experience of working with research quality software, knowledge of modern software development techniques in Linux and Microsoft Windows environments, and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques. Benefits & conditions
The post is full time, though part time applicants will be considered, with a salary commencing at £32,080 per annum.
