Job description

To provide over-the-phone and in-person assistance to technical issues involving school computer equipment and accounts. Operate, maintain, and repair computer equipment. Install equipment and programs. Troubleshoot technical problems with the user and research potential solutions if necessary. Maintain, organize, and request inventory for multiple campuses. Travel to other campus locations as needed. Assist users by providing level one support for various NCTC systems., * Serve as first level Help Desk contact; determine complexity of the problem, resolve if possible or notify appropriate Information Technology Services personnel

  • Data entry of technology purchases for the ITS department
  • Assist with tracking receipt of goods, receipts and subsequent approval of payment
  • Maintenance of ITS documentation in Document Imaging system
  • Resolve questions regarding computer accounts, passwords, network, connections, and log-in procedures for network, e-mail, and phone
  • Provide hardware assistance including resolution of operational problems with audio-visual equipment, computer and peripheral devices
  • Provide software assistance including operating system errors, answering software related questions, and resolving problems with the use of programs installed on network computers
  • Use work order software to monitor, enter and assign user support requests
  • Assist users with authentication of personal computers to NCTC wireless networks
  • Assist with imaging and deployment of network computers and software as needed.
  • Unlock accounts and provide password resets for students and employees having trouble logging in to their accounts
  • Checking classroom equipment to ensure it is working properly
  • Repair and re-image non-working computers
  • Respond to help desk ticket requests with information, or by visiting with the person, or by assigning the ticket to the appropriate IT personnel
  • Add or remove student, candidate, external authentication, faculty, and staff roles from accounts in Jenzabar to create/remove access to various systems for the account
  • Create detailed budget documents for the department. Monitor budget balances.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the intuition.

Requirements

30 Hours college credit or equivalent (combination of credit hours and industry certifications), * Computer Hardware (CompTIA A+ preferred)

Benefits & conditions

Subject to a criminal background check. A resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcript are required in addition to the application. Salary: $36,809. Located on the Gainesville Campus. Travel between campuses and off-site locations will be required.
