Job description
Based in Springfield, Illinois we produce electronic precision farming products used worldwide. We're looking to add a Software / Hardware Test Engineer to our engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on the testing of hardware and software that will support existing and next generation products. In this role, you will work as an integral part of a team dedicated to using cutting-edge technology to improve efficiency and reduce costs in modern farming applications. You will help to develop systems to more accurately apply crop protection products in the field while utilizing GNSS based guidance to accurately guide the application of those products.
Define, develop, automate, and test embedded software and hardware systems. Requires ability to understand common communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I2C, USB, and UART. Experience with test frameworks and test automation. Will collaborate cross functionally with other parts of the organization., * Execute hardware and software test plans and regression tests for agricultural equipment.
- Develop documentation including test plans and test processes for hardware and software.
- Implement and operate software test tools, test equipment, and other equipment to perform software and hardware tests.
- Utilize AI to assist, enhance, improve, and automate new and existing test systems, circuit board tests, test plans, product tests, etc.
- Use a Volt-Ohm Meter and similar electronic equipment to test/troubleshoot hardware.
- Use bug-tracking tools and apps to report, test, & verify testing activities.
- Assist in modifying/building test hardware (HIL, HALT) as required to test hardware & software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication skills, good organizational and time management skills, the ability to proactively identify needed actions and the ability to act and resolve issues with minimal oversight.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Voltmeter?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Prior experience with, or willingness to be trained in, the operation of field-scale agricultural equipment including tractors and self-propelled product application equipment.
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's Degree Electronics/Computer Technology, Ag/Software/Computer/Systems Technology/Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- 4-8 years of related work experience.
- Will work from the TeeJet facility in Springfield, Illinois.
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

- Knowledge of machine control software design and development for heavy equipment (off-highway, J1939, ISO11783) is a plus
- Knowledge and working experience with Embedded Linux or with other embedded operating systems is a plus
- Knowledge of wireless and wired communication (CAN, SPI, IC2, USB, UART, Ethernet, GNSS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) protocols is a plus, * Bachelor's (Required), * Test Engineer or Related: 4 years (Required)
