RESEARCH DATA SPECIALIST II

Under general direction of the Research Specialist II, Projections and Estimates Section, Office of Research, the Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) will independently and collaboratively perform quantitative and qualitative data-driven research and statistical analysis related to CDCR's Populations. The RDS II uses Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) and may use other statistical software (such as R, SPSS) to perform complex data analyses; SAS and system modeling software such as Simul8 for population modeling and forecasting; and visualization, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) to prepare charts, tables, presentations, and research reports for a variety of audiences. The RDS II may perform assignments independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process.
