Job description

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to support our dynamic team! In this position, you will develop and maintain software products for the next generation. This position will be in one of these locations. Seattle, WA, Arlington, VA, Huntsville, AL, Mesa, AZ, Ridley Park, PA or St Louis, MO.

In this role, you will be developing a full-stack application to support manufacturing operations and facilitate factory floor workers.

Manufacturing Application Suite enables production teams to manage work statements, optimize labor charging, and proactively address non-conformances. This leads to improved shop floor execution, enhanced performance visibility, and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, these applications empower supporting functions such as production engineering by providing necessary data and insights to optimize processes, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, the Application Suite enables teams to meet production targets, improve quality, and foster a culture of ongoing improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

Participates in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.

Works across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.

Develops new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements.

Assumes leadership of new projects, from conceptualization to deployment

Ensures application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.

Architects and provides guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale.

Engages with designers and front-end engineers and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs.

Collaborates across time zones via Teams, Mattermost, GitHub, documents, and frequent videoconferences.

Influences, innovates, and continuously improves the software engineering process as well as quality, safety and reliability of products and services provided by Boeing.

Collaborates proactively with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports to understand operational and performance expectations.

Cultivates a positive team culture, team motivation

remediation of complex technical data issues in a regulated/defense environment.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work 2 days a week onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Full-stack development?, * 3+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud environment

  • 3+ years of experience writing software for data services
  • 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ experience in building large-scale web applications using React, Angular or Vue.
  • Demonstrated design and system thinking skills.
  • 3+ years' experience in at least one programming language like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Node.js and Go, Open-Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and tools such as Github (AWS tools and services is a plus).
  • 3+ years' experience in unit/integration testing.
  • 3+ years' experience in developing web services (REST, SOAP, etc.).
  • 3+ years' experience in containerization (Docker, OCI).
  • Collaborating on international and multinational projects.
