Migration DBA / DBA Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Migration DBA / DBA Architect to lead enterprise database migration initiatives from Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) environments to AWS Oracle RDS platforms.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on end-to-end migration execution including assessment, schema conversion, data migration, cutover planning, optimization, security hardening, and post-migration production support.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both SQL Server and Oracle database administration, along with strong experience using AWS migration tools and cloud infrastructure services., * Lead Azure SQL MI / SQL Server to AWS Oracle RDS migration projects

• Conduct migration discovery, assessments, and planning activities
• Perform schema and code conversion from T-SQL to PL/SQL
• Execute data migration, replication, validation, and cutover activities
• Optimize Oracle database performance post-migration
• Configure and manage AWS RDS environments including:

• Monitoring
• Backups
• High Availability / Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)

• Implement database security and compliance best practices
• Develop migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and operational documentation
• Support production hypercare and transition-to-support activities

Do you have experience in Technical documentation?, * 8+ years of DBA experience in enterprise environments

• Strong hands-on experience with both:

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Oracle Database Administration

• Proven experience migrating Azure SQL MI or SQL Server workloads to AWS Oracle RDS
• Hands-on experience with:

• AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
• AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)

• Strong expertise in:

• T-SQL
• PL/SQL
• Query optimization
• Indexing and performance tuning

• Experience supporting:

• HA/DR strategies
• Backup and recovery
• Monitoring and alerting
• Database security best practices

• Working knowledge of AWS services including:

• RDS
• IAM
• KMS
• CloudWatch
• VPC
• Security Groups

• Experience creating migration documentation, cutover plans, and rollback strategies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with migration tools such as:

• Qlik Replicate
• Precisely
• Ispirer

• Experience with CDC replication or low-downtime migrations
• Terraform or CloudFormation experience
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automation frameworks
• Compliance experience with SOX, PCI, HIPAA, or regulated environments
• Understanding of Oracle licensing models (BYOL vs. License Included)
