Job description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and daily operation of the University's enterprise information systems and supporting infrastructure. This position ensures the reliability, performance, and security of server environments and enterprise applications, including the University's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and related services.
The Systems Administrator works closely with IT staff, university departments, and system vendors to support the effective use of enterprise systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and maintain system availability. This position also supports disaster recovery planning, system monitoring, and implementation of security best practices to protect institutional data and services.
The Systems Administrator performs additional duties as assigned by the IT Director / CIO and the Assistant IT Director / DCIO., * Install, configure, patch, and maintain enterprise server systems and support infrastructure to ensure system reliability, security, and performance.

Provide daily operational monitoring and maintenance of enterprise systems, including servers, ERP systems, and related applications.

Support the administration, configuration, and operation of the University's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and associated reporting and service components.

Manage user access rights and security permissions for enterprise systems in accordance with institutional policies and role-based access controls or best practices.

Monitor system performance and availability, perform system optimization, and support capacity planning to ensure reliable enterprise service delivery.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ERP applications, enterprise servers, and supporting infrastructure.

Coordinate with ERP vendors (e.g., Ellucian, Ferrilli, Touchnet, etc.) to submit, track, and resolve support requests and system issues.

Implement and maintain system security practices including patch management, access controls, and periodic security reviews of server systems.

Assist with the development, maintenance, and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for enterprise systems.

Maintain system documentation including system configurations, operational procedures, disaster recovery processes, and change management records.

Coordinate system maintenance activities and communicate planned system changes or outages to IT staff and affected campus stakeholders.

Collaborate with university departments to support ERP system functionality, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure effective use of enterprise systems.

Monitor and maintain system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection and system availability.

Coordinate and oversee work performed by external consultants, service providers, and vendors supporting enterprise systems.

Ensure inventory, configuration management, and change management documentation for enterprise systems is accurate and current.

Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of enterprise systems administration, cybersecurity practices, and infrastructure technologies.

Ensure the reliability and availability of enterprise systems that support critical university operations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the CIO or DCIO.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Project management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * A bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field; or four years of experience in application or systems programming and systems administration

The incumbent must have a high level of technical knowledge to be able to assess campus needs for information technology services, and design these services to meet administration, research, and instructional need.

A moderate level of proficiency in project management.

Documentation of participation in ongoing professional and technical development.
PREFERRED:
- Technical certifications: One or more of CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Microsoft Certified Professional, or other equivalent certifications.
