Job description
- Develops and maintains IT Governance frameworks in alignment with appropriate standards for areas such as risk, architecture and change.
- Creates or reviews and manages IT Policies. Coordinates version control, approval routes, and publication to the governance repository.
- Maintains documentation and evidence for audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments. Tracks and manages remediation plans for audit findings.
- Leads IT Risk identification, assessment and mitigation planning. Maintains the Risk Register and ensures alignment with corporate risk management.
- Owns or supports IT Governance Forums, such as Architecture Review Board and Monthly Performance Review. Prepare structured reporting for senior leadership including risk profiles, policy compliance and audit status
- Identifies and address weaknesses in governance processes and promotes a culture of compliance and operational rigor., * ability to attend the office Mon- Fri between 8am-5.30pm (required)

Requirements
Do you have experience in ServiceNow?, As Governance Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping Water Plus's technology operations robust, compliant and future-ready. You'll lead governance and risk management activities across Digital, Data and Technology, helping ensure our technology services are resilient, well-controlled and aligned to regulatory and organisational expectations.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and highly organised, with a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to identifying risk and improvement opportunities. You'll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, using your communication skills to provide clear insight, build confidence and influence positive outcomes across technical and non-technical teams.
This role is also about enabling transformation. You'll help create governance frameworks that support innovation, informed decision-making and safe delivery in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Essential knowledge & skills needed
- Experience in IT governance, compliance, or support roles.
- Detail-oriented and organised.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical and proactive in identifying risks and improvements.
- Comfortable working in a transforming, fast-paced environment.
Desirable knowledge & skills
- IT governance frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL).
- Risk and issue tracking tools (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow).
- Documentation and reporting for audits and compliance.
- Change and service management processes.
- Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
- Understanding of ISO27001, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
- Experience in utilities or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with service transition and operational readiness.
