Job description

We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic IT Support Technician (2nd Line) to join our Technology team. In this role, you'll be a key player in keeping our IT systems running smoothly, providing 1st & 2nd line technical support across the business. You'll work with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra (formerly Azure AD), troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring security and compliance. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic IT team, with occasional travel to our other sites for hands-on support., * Act as a point of contact for IT support requests via the ticketing system, email, and phone

  • Provide 1st line support for day-to-day user issues, including hardware, software, and access requests
  • Handle 2nd line support for escalated or more complex technical issues
  • Support users across Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access within Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Troubleshoot and support Windows devices, peripherals, and standard endpoint builds
  • Investigate recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis and service improvement
  • Work with third-party suppliers where required to resolve incidents
  • Maintain accurate ticket updates, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles
  • Attend the Manchester office 2 days per week to provide on-site support and hands-on troubleshooting

Requirements

Do you have experience in VPN?, * Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra (Azure AD)

  • Previous experience in a similiar IT support role
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a problem-solving mindset
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
  • Confident prioritising workload and managing support tickets effectively
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with the wider technology team

Nice to Have (But Not Essential)

  • Knowledge of networking (VPNs, firewalls, routers, etc.)
  • Experience with IT security best practices
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, or CompTIA A+
