Job description

Support Projects and Engineering with new Application Introduction:

  • Gain detailed knowledge of customer requirements for specific applications
  • Regular liaising with customers at a technical level

Control technical specification requirements to/from the customer and internally on the new product Development:

  • Manage Customer requirements and knowledge transfer
  • Evaluate concept designs and select best solution(s)
  • Utilising existing proven tooling and design solutions where possible

Manage project Drawings:

  • Generate component, sub-component and assembly 3D models
  • Generate drawings from CAD
  • Review and approve drawings and reports from other Application Engineers

Tolerance Analysis

  • Conduct stack-up analysis. RSS. statistical methodologies
  • Capability analysis, based on real data, verifying tolerances
  • Interference analysis with internal and external components

Coordinate validation testing by managing the DVP & R:

  • Prepare and issue test requests to test department, based on technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Ensure test samples and test fixtures are available on time
  • Complete the test timing plan on time, generate test reports for approval.

Coordinate engineering PPAP documentation:

  • Help Projects with APQP to customers against specifications and drawings
  • Generate new and review DFMEA's with cross functional team
  • Agree DVP & R with customers and test engineers

FEA support for new valve Designs

  • Prepare 3D models for evaluation
  • Run simulations for DOE evaluations and optimisation

Other responsibilities and duties:

  • Implement engineering changes following current procedures
  • Ensure your area of responsibility complies with the HS&E Management System
  • Ensure all activities carried out are ethical, meet IATF16949 and comply with both Helical's internal and external customers procedures

Support customers on site for meetings, problem solving or vehicle validation testing

Requirements

Do you have experience in R?, * HND / Degree in an Engineering or Design related subject Experience & Training: - 3D CAD modelling packages, particularly Autodesk Inventor & Vault - Good knowledge and understanding of draughting standards, geometric drawing tolerances. ⁃ Engineering change documentation.

  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and IATF16494

Shift: 07:30am till 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30am till 12:30pm on a Friday. Totalling 39 hour per week, * Cycle to work scheme
