Job description
The Network Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining network infrastructure across multiple store locations. This includes managing wired and wireless networks, coordinating with ISPs, and supporting firewall and security systems.
This role is ideal for a technician with hands-on experience in small-to-mid-sized network environments who is comfortable troubleshooting real-world connectivity issues and working with standardized network deployments., Network Operations & Support
- Monitor and maintain wired and wireless networks using Ubiquiti UniFi switches and access points
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi connectivity issues across multiple locations
- Configure and support UniFi network equipment (switches, access points, controllers)
- Support POS network infrastructure
- Maintain network documentation including IP addressing, VLANs, and device inventory
Firewall & Security Management
- Support and maintain SonicWall and Sophos firewall environments
- Manage firewall rules and NAT policies
- Monitor firewall alerts and assist in responding to security events
- Apply firmware updates and security patches to network devices
ISP & Vendor Coordination
- Act as primary contact for ISP issues, including outages and performance problems
- Open and manage support tickets with ISPs and hardware vendors
- Coordinate circuit installations, replacements, and upgrades
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Monitor network uptime, device health, and connectivity across all stores
- Respond to alerts and outages with a focus on rapid restoration of service
- Escalate complex issues when necessary
Deployment & Maintenance
- Assist with new store network deployments and standardized configurations
- Install and replace network hardware as needed
- Provide occasional on-site support for troubleshooting or installation
Requirements
Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, * 1-3 years of IT or networking experience
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and basic routing
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting wired and wireless networks
- Familiarity with UniFi or similar networking platforms
- Experience working with firewalls (SonicWall, Sophos, or similar) at a basic level
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent experience
- Experience with UniFi Controller or UniFi Network Application
- Exposure to multi-site network environments
- Basic understanding of network security concepts
