Job description

The IT Specialist is a key member of the Court's technology team, responsible for triaging and responding to all technical requests involving Court technology systems. The role requires prompt, knowledgeable handling of support tickets and proper use of departmental escalation procedures. While the IT Specialist should be able to address many hardware and software issues independently, the position also relies on strong teamwork to ensure consistent, high-quality support. Responsibilities include researching, diagnosing, and resolving technical problems related to hardware failures, network connectivity, and courtroom audio and video equipment.

Essential Functions and

Responsibilities: Joins technical support team to provide tier 1 support, including workstation and printer errors, computer system optimization, virus detection and removal, and network issues. As part of the technology team, the IT Specialist will also share responsibility for an on call rotation to support critical needs outside regular working hours. Monitors workstation performance and suggests recommendations and/or executes solutions to maximize applications. Follows direction to support the tasks to manage active directory, user accounts, computer accounts; troubleshoots and researches advanced connectivity issues and hardware failures, installs operating systems, security updates, and data restorations and migrations. Participates in Information Technology team meetings for strategic planning, analyzing and resolving existing Information Technology customer service gaps. Makes recommendations to leverage existing resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Installs new computers, printers, scanners, and VoiP phones. Creates and manages workstation images. Administers workstation image server to deploy images. Leverages inTune to enroll and keep workstations up to date. Installs, updates, and deploys software applications, e.g., security software and updates, service packs, and third-party applications. Maintains applications such as antivirus protection, courtroom audio recording systems, electronic docket boards, etc. Provides support to detention center staff regarding security video recordings and key systems management. Trains users on a vast variety of applications and procedures, e.g., Windows, MS Office, Lotus Notes, Teams/Zoom/Webex, VPN, VDI, mobile email applications, audio recording systems, etc. Documents services in IT ticketing system to maintain a knowledgebase of existing repairs.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Internal employee customer service?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience. Required minimum of one year of experience in IT technical support. Excellent customer service skills.
