MAIN PURPOSE The purpose of the role is to ensure the availability, security, and efficiency of MSF's global IT infrastructure by managing data centers, cloud services, virtualization, networking, and corporate applications, in order to support operational effectiveness and secure digital environments. JOB OVERVIEW The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the technical management and optimization of MSF's global IT infrastructure. This includes data centers, cloud platforms, virtualization systems, networking, and corporate applications. The role involves providing Tier 2 support, implementing IT security-by-design, and ensuring documentation and knowledge transfer. The specialist contributes to the evaluation and deployment of new technologies and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to maintain robust and secure infrastructure systems. RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Manage global data center operations to ensure high availability, security, and performance of infrastructure resources.
- Administer private and public cloud environments to optimize resource allocation and implement robust security measures.
- Implement disaster recovery and backup solutions across data centers and cloud platforms to ensure business continuity. Virtualization & Server Systems
- Maintain virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) to ensure efficient operation and scalability of virtual environments.
- Administer file servers and file transfer systems (on-prem/cloud) to ensure secure and reliable data access and sharing.
Network & Connectivity
- Configure and monitor local network components (switches, routers, firewalls) to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
- Coordinate with external partners and ISPs to design and maintain optimal network connectivity across global locations.
- Implement network security protocols in collaboration with the IT Security team to safeguard infrastructure.
Identity & Access Management
- Deploy and manage Microsoft domain controllers and Active Directory services to ensure secure identity and access provisioning.
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Provide Tier 2 support for infrastructure-related issues in core systems and corporate applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS).
- Collaborate with application owners and vendors to ensure infrastructure alignment with security and performance standards.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident reports to support transparency and operational continuity.
- Train and support Tier 1 technicians and internal teams through structured knowledge transfer and technical guidance.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor infrastructure performance and generate regular reports to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate and contribute to the implementation of new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities and security posture
ROLE'S SPECIFIC ELEMENTS
- Transversal IT security-by-design approach required for all tasks.
- Involvement in global decentralized infrastructure and collaboration across multiple regions.
Requirements
- University degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in global IT infrastructure management, including exposure to technologies such as Azure, VMware, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki or HP equipment. Experience with BrightStor ArcServe will be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, IT security frameworks (e.g. COBIT, CIS, NIST, ISO/IEC 27000), scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with IT service management and project methodologies such as ITIL, Agile or PRINCE2.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Basic French will be considered an asset.
- Strong competencies in analytical thinking, planning and organization, service orientation, teamwork and adaptability.
