Job description
Functional Designer with experience in functional analysis, IT solution design, and large-scale systems in insurance and banking. Translates business needs into structured IT solutions, ensures system stability, and supports end-to-end design, testing, and implementation. Skilled in test case preparation, team coordination, Agile/Waterfall delivery, Micro Focus (Cobol/SQL Server), .NET, and administrative systems., * Ensure the stability and operability of the (sub-)application.
- Translate business requirements into a structured IT solution while maintaining a functional approach.
- Contribute to translating functional designs into well-tailored technical designs.
- Prepare functional integration test cases based on requirements.
- Test the product before delivery to users.
- Analyse and define potential corrective actions.
- Coordinate technical designers and programmers during implementation of functionalities.
- Work closely with the business to ensure the final solution meets their needs.
- Actively support project leaders in project implementation.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Waterfall?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree or Engineering degree in IT or a scientific field with IT focus, or Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 years of experience in technical analysis.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Functional Analyst.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in functional analysis.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT solution design on large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in functional analysis, UI design, and testing within an insurance IT environment.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies (preferred).
- Experience in architectural design (preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience with application development of administrative systems in an IT department.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the insurance or banking domain.
- Experience in Life Insurance, contract management, claims, and finance is preferred.
- Strong command of MS Office tools.
- Experience with web-based client/server systems with Micro Focus back-end (Cobol Micro Focus / SQL Server).
- Batch processing experience (preferred).
- Experience in Cobol Micro Focus / SQL Server programming.
- Experience in .NET and SQL.
- Able to plan own work while respecting deadlines and budget constraints.
- Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, requiring strong organisational skills.
- Able to identify key topics in discussions with technical IT stakeholders.
- Able to handle high-pressure situations.
- Fluent in Dutch and/or French with a strong command of English., * Quick learner
