Job description
The Head of AI & Digital Systems is a critical, senior role responsible for owning and advancing the group's entire digital, AI and technology landscape. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this person will take ownership of existing AI-powered internal tools, identify new AI opportunities across all divisions, and create a formal AI governance framework enabling safe, responsible AI use across the business. The role also owns all third-party technology vendor relationships and strategically manages core platforms including CRM and care management systems.
This is not a back-office IT role. Success requires someone equally comfortable in a strategy session with the senior management team as they are sitting with an operational manager helping them get the most from a system. The role demands curiosity, initiative, technical literacy, commercial awareness and outstanding people skills. The reward will be a long-term front-seat in a growing, purposeful and culture-led business, alongise future personal progression., * Take ownership of the group's existing AI-powered internal tools, maintaining, improving and extending them across all divisions
- Work across teams to identify, design and build new AI tools and automations that deliver measurable value
- Create and maintain a formal AI governance framework, ensuring all AI tools are built and used safely, ethically and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Alongside the Managing Director, co-own the group's AI quality and governance standards evolving them as the landscape develops
- Build a structure that enables and coaches team members at all levels to use AI tools confidently and responsibly
- Own all third-party technology vendor relationships including the managed service provider, CRM (HubSpot), care management systems and Microsoft 365 environment
- Strategically manage our CRM, driving development and bringing in specialist expertise where needed
- Champion cybersecurity best practice internally and oversee the managed service provider's security posture
- Provide hands-on coaching to operational managers and the senior management team, and shape long-term digital and AI strategy
Requirements
Do you have experience in HubSpot?, * Active, deep and passionate interest in emerging AI technologies
- Strong technical literacy: confident understanding of APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, version control and how large language models work
- Experience owning and managing business systems in a growing organisation
- Curiosity, initiative and drive; unwilling to accept the status quote unchallenged
- CRM administration and optimisation experience (ideally HubSpot)
- Practical understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practice
- Outstanding communication skills: confident working with senior leadership, operational managers and non-technical teams
- Ability to translate operational needs into system, process and AI-driven improvements
- Experience managing third-party technology vendors and managed service providers
- Values-led, people-first approach with a genuine desire to help teams work better
- Experience building or deploying AI tools in a business context
