Job description
You'll own our client websites end-to-end, from initial design through to long-term care:
New website projects
- Design in Figma: translate client briefs into polished, on-brand designs that reflect the client we are working with
- Build in WordPress + Elementor: turn your own designs into fast, well-built, responsive websites
- Manage the project: own timelines, milestones, and quality from kick-off to launch
- Lead client calls, present designs, gather feedback, manage expectations
Ongoing client care
- Own our Website Maintenance client base: you're their technical point of contact
- Handle monthly maintenance tasks (updates, backups, security, performance - we use WP Umbrella for this)
- Respond to ad-hoc client requests: content changes, small dev tasks, fixes
- Build the kind of ongoing relationships that turn clients into long-term advocates
You'll work directly with the founders (Tom and Rachel) and have real ownership over the work, the process, and how we evolve our offering. This is a role with breadth: design, build, client relationships, and ongoing care all sit with you.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WordPress?, * 4-6 years' experience as a web designer/developer, ideally agency-side
- Genuinely strong designer: Figma is your home and you've got the portfolio to prove it
- Confident builder: fluent in WordPress + Elementor, comfortable with HTML/CSS and basic custom work
- Native or near-native English: you'll be on calls and communicating with UK business owners every week
- Comfortable being client-facing: confident leading meetings, presenting work, handling ongoing client relationships
- Self-managing: you can run multiple projects and maintenance clients without someone holding your hand
- High attention to detail: small mistakes are not part of your output, and you take true pride in your work
- Familiar with SEO basics so sites are built with search in mind
- Comfortable juggling new builds and ongoing client work in the same week
- Shopify experience welcome (we do 1-2 projects a year)
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Able to commute to our Hinckley office
Who this won't suit
- Designers who don't want to build
- Developers who don't want to design
- Anyone who only wants to work on new builds and not look after ongoing clients
- Anyone uncomfortable on client calls
- Anyone looking for a narrow, task-based role
- People with no ambition looking to do the bare minimum
Benefits & conditions
- £32,000-£40,000 depending on experience
- Full-time, office-based in Hinckley
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays
- Direct involvement in shaping how Reason8 grows
- 3-month probation period (extendable by 1 month)
Why this role
You won't be one designer among ten, taking briefs and outputting wireframes.
You'll be the web person at Reason8; owning new builds, ongoing client relationships, and the technical standard we're known for.
If you want breadth, ownership, and a real say in how things are done, this is that role.
Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
