This is a hands-on role analysing product, user, and business data to generate insights that shape decision-making. You'll uncover how learners engage with digital platforms, identify behavioural patterns, and influence product development and user experience - while also contributing to research that improves how children learn. The Role This is a high-impact Lead Data Analyst role combining product analytics with a strong research mindset. You will lead a small and growing insights function (with one Research Associate), ensuring that data, analysis, and interpretation are robust, scalable, and drive real impact. You will:

  • Analyse how users engage with learning platforms (behaviour, progress, engagement)
  • Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of product features and releases
  • Combine quantitative data with qualitative insights (e.g. user feedback)
  • Support research initiatives exploring learning outcomes
  • Work closely with leadership to define key analytical questions
  • Support the onboarding, coordination, and line management of a Research Associate
  • Work with tools such as Python, Looker, or similar

Requirements

  • 4-6 years' experience as a Data Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Experience using Python or R for data analysis
  • Experience supervising or managing small teams (1-2 people)
  • Solid understanding of cohort analysis, segmentation, and statistical methods (e.g. regression, correlation)
  • Ability to critically evaluate data, including bias and confounding factors
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A natural curiosity - particularly around learning and behaviour

Benefits & conditions

  • £50,000 - £60,000 (full-time equivalent)
  • Option to work a 4-day week (pro rata £40,000 - £48,000)
  • Hybrid working for candidates local to bedford office (2-3 days onsite)
  • Remote working options (with occasional office visits)
  • Pension
  • Private healthcare
