Lead Data Analyst - Research & Insights | EdTech | £50,000 - £60,000 Hybrid (Bedford) or Remote options 4-day work week available (pro-rated) Join a well-established, award-winning EdTech company building engaging, maths-based learning products used by millions of children worldwide. This is a hands-on role analysing product, user, and business data to generate insights that shape decision-making. You'll uncover how learners engage with digital platforms, identify behavioural patterns, and influence product development and user experience - while also contributing to research that improves how children learn. The Role This is a high-impact Lead Data Analyst role combining product analytics with a strong research mindset. You will lead a small and growing insights function (with one Research Associate), ensuring that data, analysis, and interpretation are robust, scalable, and drive real impact. You will:
- Analyse how users engage with learning platforms (behaviour, progress, engagement)
- Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement
- Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of product features and releases
- Combine quantitative data with qualitative insights (e.g. user feedback)
- Support research initiatives exploring learning outcomes
- Work closely with leadership to define key analytical questions
- Support the onboarding, coordination, and line management of a Research Associate
- Work with tools such as Python, Looker, or similar
Requirements
- 4-6 years' experience as a Data Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Experience using Python or R for data analysis
- Experience supervising or managing small teams (1-2 people)
- Solid understanding of cohort analysis, segmentation, and statistical methods (e.g. regression, correlation)
- Ability to critically evaluate data, including bias and confounding factors
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A natural curiosity - particularly around learning and behaviour

- £50,000 - £60,000 (full-time equivalent)
- Option to work a 4-day week (pro rata £40,000 - £48,000)
- Hybrid working for candidates local to bedford office (2-3 days onsite)
