Job description
The General IT Support Specialist will support NAMRU-D as part of a Government-led IT team by assisting with trouble tickets, desktop support, software installation, cybersecurity coordination, and IT request tracking. The position is based onsite at Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-D), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Responsibilities include the following, * Assist in monitoring, opening, assigning, updating, and closing command trouble tickets in up to four separate ticketing systems.
- Assist with installing command desktop software and providing customer desktop support for Windows, Apple iOS, and Linux distribution workstations.
- Coordinate with hardware technicians and software administrators when Level 2 or Level 3 support is required.
- Support command compliance and implementation activities related to Cybersecurity Certificate to Operate (CTO) processes.
- Maintain software licensing records and deploy software packages as required.
- Track all command IT requests through appropriate ticketing systems and maintain required install logs and ticket records.
- Deliver responsive, customer-focused support in a secure DoD IT environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in information technology services.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience supporting desktop software installation, ticketing workflows, and customer IT troubleshooting preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a Government-led IT team and follow established security and technical procedures.
- Must qualify for CAC issuance and IT access and comply with DoD, DoN, NAMRU-D, cybersecurity, and OPSEC requirements.
