Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Professional to support and maintain a growing business and engineering environment. This role requires a well-rounded technical background across Microsoft administration, Linux systems, networking, security, scripting, automation, and end-user support.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while supporting both daily IT operations and long-term infrastructure improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Active Directory environments, including users, groups, permissions, Group Policy, and access control.
- Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and endpoint management.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux systems.
- Provide administration and troubleshooting support for Linux servers, including updates, permissions, services, logs, and shell-based maintenance tasks.
- Support Fortinet networking and security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, routing, policies, and security rules.
- Assist with PostgreSQL administration, including backups, monitoring, permissions, and basic query troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Linux shell scripting and PowerShell.
- Utilize Ansible for configuration management, deployments, system updates, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, network, access, and application-related issues.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning, permissions, endpoint setup, and device recovery.
- Monitor system health, backups, endpoint security, network availability, and security alerts.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, assets, and environments.
- Support cybersecurity best practices, including MFA, patching, endpoint protection, least-privilege access, and vulnerability remediation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to VPN connectivity, Wi-Fi, firewalls, servers, endpoints, and business applications.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects, automation initiatives, cloud migrations, endpoint standardization, and access control improvements., Within the first few months, this person will have helped improve IT reliability, security, automation, and operational efficiency across the organization. They will contribute to maintaining stable and secure systems, improving documentation, streamlining repetitive processes, and ensuring employees receive timely and professional technical support.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN?, * Approximately 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience administering Active Directory environments.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID and Intune.
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Experience supporting Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, or related network security platforms.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL administration concepts, including backup, restore, monitoring, and permissions.
- Experience writing and maintaining Linux shell scripts.
- Experience using PowerShell for administration, automation, or reporting.
- Working knowledge of Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and firewall rules.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and user access issues.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment., * Experience supporting hybrid Microsoft environments integrating on-prem Active Directory with Entra ID.
- Experience managing endpoints through Intune or similar device management platforms.
- Experience with Fortinet products such as FortiGate, FortiClient, FortiAnalyzer, or FortiManager.
- Familiarity with backup systems, monitoring tools, logging platforms, and patch management solutions.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, containers, or DevOps concepts.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira, Zendesk, Freshservice, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Linux+, Fortinet, or equivalent practical experience., You are a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving technical problems across infrastructure, systems, networking, security, and user support. You are comfortable balancing day-to-day operational support with long-term improvement projects and automation initiatives. You take ownership of issues, communicate effectively, and work well independently while collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams, * This position supports U.S. government programs and involves export-controlled technologies.
