Job description

deciBel Research seeks a Linux System Administrator for the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Ground Weapon System (GWS) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and coordinating with network administrators.

Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. They will interact with users and evaluate vendor products as well as make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. In addition, they will develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Linux support?, Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline, * Minimum of 2 years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  • Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)
  • Experience with various scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Active Linux Certifications (Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE)
  • Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc.
  • Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products (ACAS)
  • Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS)
  • Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
  • Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
