Job description
The Informatica ETL Developer is an integral part of the team responsible for the extraction of data from multiple sources into various target platforms and environments. Your duties will include the modification of existing mappings and building others from scratch. You will work with our client's leadership and various engineering teams to identify, assess and implement the most optimal data transfer or integration solution. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of Informatica and other ETL tools., and a natural curiosity for producing effective solutions. This person is patient, has excellent time-management skills, and effective communication style. The role requires the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather report requirements and provide recommendations for improvements., * Perform data movement processes and advanced ETL development activities using Informatica, PL/SQL, Oracle Database, SQL, and other technologies
- Analyzes data structures in existing legacy systems in order to design extract, transform and load processes and data warehouse data structures
- Oracle experience from the development perspective
- Plans and conducts Informatica ETL unit and development tests
- Design, implement, test and maintain ETL components for multiple applications
- Responsible for developing and managing ETL configurable artifacts (code, environment, configuration files, documentation)
- Provide data analysis to support new project definition/design to troubleshoot/resolve issues with existing subject areas
- Work independently or as part of a team to deliver ETL projects
- Follow established standards and best practices and provide input for improvement of those processes
- Maintain a high volume, multi-terabyte 24/7 data warehouse application
- Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
Requirements

- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience managing projects, working with stakeholders, and delivering data within timelines, * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- 5+ years' experience with Informatica PowerCenter and other tools
- Strong subject matter expertise on ETL and Informatica best practices
- Experience in analysis, design, development into OLAP environment
- Strong experience in Unix Shell Scripting and SQL
- Knowledge and experience in data warehouse development life cycle, requirements analysis, dimensional modeling, repository management and administration
- Adept in creating complex mappings using various transformations, and developing strategies for Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) mechanism by using Informatica
- Skilled in source systems analysis and data extraction from various sources such as Flat files, Oracle, and other heterogeneous data sources
- Capability in business requirements gathering, define and capture metadata for business rules, system analysis, design, development, production support, testing, user training, and strategic decision making
- Experience in performance tuning of sources, transformations, targets, mapplets, mappings, worklets, workflows, sessions, and batches
- A team player, with the ability to work individually and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and can clearly articulate complex messages and requirements
- Collaborative, detail oriented with superior analytical, problem solving, pragmatism and organization skills
