Job description

Your challenge As a Senior Platform Engineer within the Order Manager as a Platform (OMaaP) team at ING, you will be responsible for the availability, reliability, and performance of internet-facing platforms within Wholesale Banking. These systems support a wide range of banking services, including payments, financial markets, and lending services. You will play an important role in the ongoing development of the cloud platform and contribute to the migration of traditional applications toward containerized and cloud-native environments. The focus is on automation, monitoring, security, and continuous improvement. What you will be doing:

  • Managing and optimizing mission-critical platforms and environments
  • Monitoring and supporting systems through automation and testing
  • Analyzing database and application performance and providing tuning recommendations
  • Further developing monitoring and alerting capabilities towards preventive monitoring
  • Ensuring security, privacy, and compliance standards are maintained
  • Responding to incidents and participating in standby/on-call activities
  • Supporting development teams with tooling and improvements to reduce lead times
  • Working in an Agile/DevOps environment with two-week sprints

Requirements

Do you have experience in UNIX?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in an international IT environment
  • Strong knowledge of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
  • Experience with S3, Cassandra, and Elastic Search
  • Experience with CI/CD and tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, and Maven
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus
  • Experience with automated deployments on both container and non-container platforms
  • Strong scripting skills, preferably Bash/Unix
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Willingness to participate in standby/on-call support and provide 24x7 production support

  • Competitive salary ranging from €4,596.00 to €5,263.69 gross per month based on a 36-hour work week
