Job description

A leading UK healthcare organisation is looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Developer with EPR Integration expertise to support a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation programme. This is a senior technical role within the Digital directorate, playing a key part in ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely data flows into the organisation's data warehouse and reporting systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of the new EPR system with the organisation's data warehouse and reporting tools.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise automated ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and T-SQL.
  • Design and enhance data models, reporting structures, and extraction routines for internal and national dataset requirements.
  • Support EPR data migration activities, ensuring accurate extraction, transformation, validation, and loading of clinical data.
  • Act as a technical expert and reviewer for integration and ETL development work.
  • Provide leadership and line management to a Data Warehouse Programmer.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, information security, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience building and supporting data warehouse solutions and ETL processes.
  • Strong expertise with Azure Data Factory, SQL/T-SQL, and data modelling.
  • Experience working with large-scale healthcare data, ideally including EPR systems.
  • Ability to lead technical workstreams and manage complex integration activities.

Desirable:

  • Experience with NHS clinical systems (e.g., SystmOne).
  • Azure or cloud certifications.
  • Knowledge of NHS data standards and reporting requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and documentation capability.
  • A collaborative, improvement-focused mindset aligned to healthcare values.
