Job description
We are seeking a proactive and technically capable System Administrator to support the ongoing development, security, and reliability of the company's infrastructure and systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation who is looking to take ownership, contribute to strategic improvements, and play a key role within a fast-growing technology business.
The successful candidate will work closely with both technical and operational teams to manage and maintain a mixed infrastructure environment, support security and system resilience initiatives, and contribute towards the company's goal of achieving ISO27001 accreditation. The role offers exposure across infrastructure, security, deployment, and operational support, with opportunities to expand skills and progress into a senior management position as the business continues to scale. Full support and ongoing professional development will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and monitor the company's internal infrastructure, servers, networks, and business-critical systems.
- Manage system security, patching, updates, and backups.
- Work alongside development and configuration teams to troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and maintain service availability.
- Monitor service health and system alerts.
- Contribute towards the development and implementation of IT policies, processes, and documentation in line with industry best practices.
- Play a key role in supporting the business towards achieving and maintaining ISO27001 accreditation.
- Take ownership of technical tasks and projects, working to agreed deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively within a small, growing team while maintaining a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and professional skills in line with business growth and future leadership opportunities., * Windows servers (including Active Directory)
- Linux servers
- MySQL Database
- InfoSec for Web Applications (incl Sentinel 1 and Horizon)
- Application Code (PHP) and Op Sys Code Release/Patching (NB NVT do not use AWS or azure and operate their own cloud infrastructure)
- Hardware (incl virtual servers and load balancers)
Requirements
Do you have experience in System administration?, * System Administrator experience - min 2 years, * System administration: 2 years (required)

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
