Deloitte's Workday Financial Management Practice sits within the Enterprise Applications service line which forms part of Technology and Transformation. Here we focus on providing application expertise to support specific areas of a project.
As a Workday Finance Data Migration Lead, your role will involve:
Strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of all data migration activities related to the implementation of Workday Financials. This critical role ensures the accurate, timely, and secure transfer of financial data from legacy systems to Workday, supporting the broader technology and business transformation agenda. The lead will manage a team, collaborate extensively with functional and technical stakeholders, and uphold data integrity and governance standards throughout the migration lifecycle.

Essentials:
- Proven extensive consulting experience in leading and delivering complex data migration projects, with a strong focus on financial data.
- Workday Finance or equivalent certifications, with a minimum of at least 2 end to end Workday deployments.
- Manage the end-to-end migration cycles and strategy, aligned with project plan timelines, adopting best practice methodology for Workday Financials, covering all phases from data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation.
- Define data migration scope, objectives, and success criteria in alignment with programme goals and business requirements.
- Lead and manage the data migration team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
- Ensure data cleansing, standardisation, and enrichment activities are performed to meet Workday data model requirements and improve data quality.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all data migration-related activities, liaising with project managers, functional leads, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans effectively to senior management and project steering committees.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, define data definitions, and resolve data-related challenges.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures throughout the migration process.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data migration processes, mappings, and validation results.
- Proactively identify, track, and manage data migration risks and issues, developing effective mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Workday's data model, and reporting capabilities (e.g., BIRT, custom reports).
- Demonstrable experience cross-functionally with project management, stakeholders and project team across all functional areas.
- Experience working in a large-scale technology and business transformation environment.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
- Able to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences.
- Manage dependencies between data migration activities and other project workstreams.
