Job description
This is a forward-thinking role supporting the delivery and evolution of the Rail function across NTS. You'll act as a central enabler for cross-functional collaboration, helping drive key projects, digital improvements and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with Rail leadership, you'll contribute to shaping future direction, improve visibility through data and support the ongoing modernisation of how we operate.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinating cross-functional rail projects and ensuring alignment across departments
- Supporting the Rail leadership team with strategic initiatives and long-term planning
- Acting as a key link between Rail and support functions such as Finance, IT and HR
- Using tools such as Power BI to develop dashboards and improve operational visibility
- Supporting the modernisation of processes and workflows through digital solutions
- Driving progress on key initiatives by working closely with delivery teams to remove blockers
- Conducting research, producing reports and supporting insight-driven decision making
- Monitoring industry trends and contributing to future planning and opportunity identification
- Supporting NTS' external presence through engagement with stakeholders and industry forums
Training & development
This role will include an initial period within the Rail Commercial team to build a strong understanding of the business, alongside opportunities for secondments across different areas of NTS to broaden experience and capability.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Power BI?, Do you have a GCSE?, * Experience in data analysis, project support or a related field
- Exposure to cross-functional working or stakeholder engagement
- Experience using data or insight to support decision making
Knowledge
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Power BI
- Understanding of IT or data systems relevant to operational environments
- Awareness of process improvement or digital transformation approaches (desirable)

- A genuine interest in continuous improvement and learning, * GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English
- Degree or degree equivalent in a relevant STEM subject, or at least 3 years' experience in data analysis, statistics or information technology.
- Fluency in Microsoft suite applications including Power BI
- Knowledge of ICT applications relevant to NTS, * Are collaborative, approachable and naturally supportive of others
