Job description
We're hiring a designer and front-end builder who can take a website from concept through to a finished, live site with minimal hand-holding.
This is a hands-on role, not a strategy or management one. You'll be designing, building, and delivering client websites to a high standard, alongside the visual assets that support them.
What you'll be doing
Building client websites end to end. You'll handle design, build, and delivery across multiple active projects, working on real briefs for real businesses across Northern Ireland and beyond.
Alongside the web work, you'll produce the visual assets that go with it. Brand identities, campaign visuals, social graphics, ad creative, brochures, and digital-first design systems.
We have a full pipeline running, so this is a busy role from day one. The right person will be confident taking a concept from initial sketch through to polished, final delivery.
AI in the workflow
We're an AI-first agency. AI is built into how we design, build, and deliver across the business.
The role uses AI to enhance the work, not replace the designer. That includes moodboarding, concept exploration, layout iteration, asset generation, copy drafts, code troubleshooting, and generating site sections at speed. We expect the person in this role to use AI tools daily and to bring new tools and approaches to the team as they emerge.
The craft still matters. AI helps you produce more and produce it faster, but the judgement, the eye, and the final quality control are yours.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WordPress?, WordPress runs most of our client work, so strong WordPress experience is essential. Around that, we use a range of builders and design tools depending on the project. We're not tied to any single tool, and we expect new hires to be comfortable picking up new platforms quickly.
What you need to be good at
1 to 2 years in a graphic design role, ideally within an agency, studio, or fast-paced in-house team. A portfolio showing strong work across brand, digital, and campaign.
A strong grip on the fundamentals. Typography, layout, branding, and digital design principles.
WordPress. Confident across themes, plugins, and customisation, and comfortable building sites in it from scratch.
Fluency in the wider toolset. Comfortable picking up new builders, plugins, and platforms quickly, including new AI tools as they emerge.
Front-end build. HTML, CSS, and enough PHP or JavaScript to customise themes and troubleshoot. You should be able to build responsive, fast-loading sites from scratch.
Industry-standard design software at a professional level. Fluent across the full range of design and prototyping tools used in agency environments today.
UX awareness. You understand how design affects conversion. You know how to structure a page so visitors take the action you want them to take.
The ability to present and explain your work. You can walk a client or colleague through a design and articulate the thinking behind every decision., Agency experience. Work across web and social content. Comfort with responsive design and social-first campaigns. Experience collaborating with strategists, developers, content teams, and performance marketers. WooCommerce or other ecommerce on WordPress. A basic understanding of SEO principles such as page speed, image optimisation, and heading structure.
The person
Self-motivated. Takes a brief, asks the right questions, and gets on with it.
A strong eye for detail. Notices what's off without being told. Cares about alignment, spacing, consistency, and image quality.
Open to feedback. Comfortable both giving and receiving it.
Ambitious and curious. About AI, about new tools, about where the industry is heading.
