Main Job Purpose:To support the effective delivery of HR and Training processes during a period of demerger, including system implementation testing, ongoing payroll processing and training administration.This position will actively contribute to the successful implementation and optimisation of HR systems (including Workday) through User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation of process flows, and correction of data discrepancies. It will also oversee the end-to-end coordination of manual payroll activities, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, including the correct application of overtime, sickness, and statutory payments.In addition, the role will support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of training activities across the shop floor, ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary skills, technical knowledge, and mandatory certifications to perform their roles safely and effectively.Key Skills and Responsibilities:Demerger SupportAssist with HR and operational activities related to the demerger, ensuring smooth transition and continuity of people processes.Support data separation, validation, and alignment with new organisational structures.System Testing & Data ManagementConduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Workday process flows, ensuring accuracy and functionality.Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring high data integrity across systems.Support continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.Payroll AdministrationManage and run manual monthly payroll processes accurately and within deadlines.Calculate and validate overtime payments and absence-related pay, including sickness and statutory sick pay (SSP).Ensure compliance with payroll policies, legislation, and audit requirements.Support pay issues on site and communications with employeesTraining Coordination & AdministrationSchedule and book internal and external training.Raise and process Purchase Orders.Provide administrative support to the Training Team.Ensure completion of mandatory training (e.g. food safety, forklift licences) andmaintain accurate training records.General HR SupportProvide administrative support to HR team as required.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.Professional Qualifications:GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (C/5 and above).CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is desirable but not essential. Experience Required: ESSENTIAL:Previous experience in HR, payroll, or administrative rolesExperience supporting payroll processes, including manual calculationsExperience coordinating training and supporting learning and development activitiesFamiliarity with HR systems, including WorkdayStrong Microsoft office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong analytical skills, including the ability to manipulate dataHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlinesEffective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teamsPREFERRED / DESIRABLE: Exposure to organisation change (e.g. Demergers)Experience in a manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with Open Options (Crown) Gloucester working environment:Ice cream manufacturing environment There is an onsite restaurant available, serving breakfast and lunchUniform for manufacturing workers Staff shop selling discounted productsOnsite parking Close proximity to M5 motorway and a 20 minute drive from Cheltenham.

Benefits & conditions

The position is based at Barnwood, Gloucester. This is a full-time temporary role for 6 Months, requiring 37.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £40,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
