Job description
PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for an experienced Manufacturing & Controls Engineer to join our team in Southern California. As the Advanced Manufacturing Controls Engineer, you will develop and implement innovative controls solutions across a diverse group of chemical manufacturing processes within our multi-site Aerospace Business Unit. You will work from one of our Southern California sites, located in either Valencia, CA or Mojave, CA.
This is an onsite role and reporting to the Global Project Director, Aerospace Materials.
Key Responsibilities

Participating as a team member in all aspects of Front End Engineering, Design and Installation. This includes but is not limited to preparation of appropriate documentation for multiple projects, providing technical support to various Engineers, Operators and Technical resources.

Develop RFQs, SOW and directly manage vendors and contractors, plan and execute the totality of the project, direct workflow reviews as needed, and coordinate equipment installation.

Field leadership of employees and contractors, promoting teamwork, collaboration and driving results to complete projects on time and withing budget.

Project and special process documentation, including technical writing of standard operating procedures (SOP), operations manuals, and training documentation.

Assist with capital budgeting and fiscal control of projects, justifying ROA/ROE/ROI, total bid process including bidder lists and bid comparison, strategic cost avoidance and reduction

Implementation of aerospace strategic MES/SCADA throughout the SBU. This includes hardware and software selection and installation. Keep each facilities MES/SCADA system up to date, standardized from facility to facility and work with manufacturing departments at each facility to develop real time display of metrics.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Software, Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent work experience and certifications is required.

5+ years of experience with demonstrated, hands on experience as an Engineer performing programming of PLCs.

Ability to travel up to 50%.

Experience with GE Proficy, Rockwell Automation, Siemens OpCenter or similar integration systems.

Knowledge of PLC's is required, Allen Bradley preferred.

Benefits & conditions
The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 10% of base salary.
