Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Freelance <USDRIVERLICENSE> Desktop Support specialist to provide exceptional technical assistance and support to our clients. In this role, you will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, manage computer systems, and ensure seamless IT operations across various operating systems including Windows and macOS. Your expertise will help maintain optimal IT infrastructure performance, enhance user experience, and resolve technical challenges swiftly.   • Troubleshoot hardware failures, software glitches, network connectivity issues, and configuration problems efficiently using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy.
  • Manage computer management tasks including software installations, updates, patches, and hardware upgrades to ensure systems are current and secure.
  • Support IT infrastructure components such as LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and switches to maintain network integrity and security.
  • Assist users with operating system issues, software troubleshooting, and connectivity problems related to computer networking and security protocols.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of support activities, incident reports, and resolution steps to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate clearly with end-users to diagnose issues effectively while providing excellent customer service that enhances user satisfaction.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Customer communication?, * Proven experience in technical support or desktop support roles with a strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with IT support tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy or Help Desk platforms for ticket management and incident tracking.
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewall management, and network security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience managing computer management tasks like software deployment via Microsoft Office suite or other enterprise tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently in a freelance capacity while managing multiple support requests efficiently.
  • Prior experience supporting IT infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access solutions is highly desirable.
