Job description

The System Administrator will support enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, virtualization, and systems operations across classified and unclassified environments. Responsibilities include maintaining Windows and Linux systems, managing virtualization platforms, supporting cybersecurity compliance initiatives, performing patching and vulnerability remediation, and ensuring the operational readiness of infrastructure, network, and storage environments. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, coordination with engineering and vendor teams, and the ability to support highly available mission systems., * Install, configure, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows Server, Windows 11, and Linux (RHEL 8/9) systems

  • Manage and maintain VMware ESXi, vCenter, VxRail, Horizon, and virtual machine infrastructure
  • Perform quarterly infrastructure patching activities for servers, virtualization platforms, networking equipment, and endpoint systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain Trellix/McAfee ePO infrastructure and endpoint protection agents
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Splunk infrastructure and forwarders to ensure centralized logging and monitoring
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning using Nessus/ACAS and remediate identified findings
  • Apply and maintain STIG configurations across Linux, Windows, VMware, and networking platforms
  • Support secure network segmentation through VLANs, ACLs, firewall configurations, and management network separation
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain new virtual machines, templates, golden images, and infrastructure services
  • Maintain Active Directory, Linux domain integration, Group Policy, RBAC controls, and service account administration
  • Support Kubernetes/RKE2 platforms, artifact repositories, and container registry operations
  • Perform backup, restore, and recovery operations for virtual machines, network devices, and storage systems
  • Manage certificates, PKI infrastructure, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP, and authentication services
  • Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, storage utilization, and hardware lifecycle status
  • Coordinate hardware maintenance activities including firmware, BIOS, iDRAC/iLO, GPU, and driver updates
  • Provide troubleshooting and operational support during outages, incident response activities, and facility power events
  • Document system procedures, remediation activities, software licensing, and operational status tracking
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, vendor, and program teams to integrate and sustain mission systems

Requirements

Do you have experience in vCenter?, * Experience administering Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) enterprise environments

  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies including ESXi and vCenter
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, STIG implementation, and cybersecurity compliance practices.
  • Experience with enterprise patch management and infrastructure lifecycle maintenance
  • Understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall administration
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and network environments
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills in a team-oriented environment

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Splunk, Trellix ePO, Nessus/ACAS, SCC, and STIG remediation tools
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, DevOps tooling, and infrastructure automation
  • Experience supporting Kubernetes, Rancher, RKE2, and containerized environments
  • Knowledge of storage platforms such as PowerScale/Isilon
  • Experience with classified or DoD enterprise environments
  • Security+, RHCSA, VMware, or related certifications

Clearance Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret, as required
