Job description
The Architect will lead the architectural design and drafting process for residential remodeling projects from initial as-built drawings through final construction documents. Projects range from kitchens and baths, whole-house remodels, additions, ADUs, residential elevators and custom residential transformations.
This individual will collaborate closely with Remodeling Consultants, Design Consultants, and Production staff to develop creative, practical, and buildable solutions that align with clients' goals, budgets, and timelines.
The Architect will be responsible for:
- Traveling to customer's homes for on-site measures
- Producing conceptual and construction drawings
- Ensuring code compliance
- Coordinating permit documentation
- Reviewing structural and design requirements
- Stamping plans where required
- Supporting the production team with complete, accurate construction documents
The ideal candidate understands both architectural design and real-world residential construction methods and can create plans detailed enough for field teams to build directly from.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Time management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree in architecture?, * Licensed Architect (NH license preferred; MA license a plus)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in residential architecture, remodeling design, or design/build construction
- Proficiency in residential drafting and 3-D rendering software.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, and permitting requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to develop creative, functional, and budget-conscious design solutions
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance coverage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a Design/Build remodeling firm
- Experience with Chief Architect.
- Experience with BuilderTrend, Co-Construct, or similar project management software
- Universal Design experience or certifications
- NKBA, AIA, or other relevant professional affiliations/certifications, Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required.
