Job description

The Aviation Finance Controller - Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for leading financial management, reporting, and internal controls within an aviation organization, with specialized expertise in Quantum Component Control software Accounting module. This role combines strong financial leadership with deep operational knowledge of aviation component tracking, inventory accounting, and maintenance systems to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective cost control across maintenance and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities Hands on Financial Data Entry, Analysis, Leadership & Reporting

  • Oversee all financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies.
  • Provide leadership with actionable financial insights and recommendations.

Quantum Component Control Software (SME Responsibilities)

  • Serve as the primary SME for Quantum Control software within the finance function.
  • Ensure proper configuration and financial integration of Quantum ERP/accounting systems.
  • Validate data integrity between operational (component tracking) and financial systems.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytics derived from Quantum data.
  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, and user training.
  • Development of AP- AR clerk

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, inventory, and fixed assets.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits, including documentation and system validation.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance to DCAA standards

Process Improvement & Data Analysis

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and component control processes.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to improve efficiency, cost management, and reporting accuracy.
  • Identify discrepancies in inventory and financial records and lead resolution efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and IT teams to align operational and financial objectives.
  • Act as liaison between finance and system users for Quantum-related processes., * Office-based with close interaction with maintenance and operational teams.
  • May require occasional travel for audits, system implementations, or operational support.

Success Metrics

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Reconciliation accuracy between Quantum system and financial records.
  • Reduction in inventory discrepancies and audit findings.
  • Improved cost control across component management and MRO functions.
  • Effective utilization of Quantum data for financial decision-making.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Requirements

Do you have a valid Certified Management Accountant certification?, Do you have experience in Stakeholder relationship building?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).

  • 7+ years of experience in financial controlling, preferably within aviation, MRO, or aerospace.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Quantum Component Control software (required).
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and fixed asset management., * CPA, CMA, or MBA.
  • 7 plus years or more Experience Quantum Control with ERP systems accounting module.
  • Background in airline, MRO, and/or Defense supply chain environments.
  • Advance knowledge- skills in excel
  • Experience leading audits and compliance programs.
