Job description
We're looking for a proactive and conscientious Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of electrical and electronic systems across our vehicle programmes. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the V-model development process, have experience working within an OEM environment, and bring a strong combination of theoretical understanding and practical engineering experience. Comfortable working in a small team within an intense, delivery-focused environment, they will help define system requirements, coordinate cross-functional activities, support testing and validation, process engineering releases, and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Design of electrical systems for low-volume prototype and production vehicles
- Define and capture electrical and control systems requirements and test cases
- Create, maintain, and update system documentation (schematics, DTs/ICDs, DVPs)
- Support vehicle testing, commissioning, and development across programmes
- Liaise with suppliers to integrate systems into the whole vehicle architecture
- Collaborate on strategy, vehicle architecture and system development
- Identify issues, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement
- Support delivery of all vehicle programmes as required by the Engineering team

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Automotive or motorsport electrical engineering experience
- Proven experience designing and calibrating automotive electrical systems
- Familiarity with race vehicle control systems (e.g. MoTeC, Life Racing)
- Experience with engine management and/or stability control systems
- Strong understanding of the V-model and systems engineering principles
- Experience with vehicle diagnostics (protocols, tools, and methodologies)
- Knowledge of vehicle network design and CAN systems
- Proficiency using network and electronic test tools (e.g. Vector, PEAK, oscilloscopes, data loggers)
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Polarion, JAMA)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with prototype vehicle commissioning and issue resolution
- Experience delivering electrical/electronic systems through full lifecycle (requirements to release)
- Exposure to multiple control domains (e.g. powertrain, chassis, body electronics)
- Degree in Automotive/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, You will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, be confident to work independently with guidance. Resilience, an acceptance of change management with the willing to self-develop with any future training and development needs.
