Job description

Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the IT Systems Administrator role. The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for maintenance, repair, configuration, and reliable operation of all Wesley IT computer systems, network servers, services, applications and virtualization to enable maximum system performance, uptime, and security. Including responsibility for all internet and phone services provided to Wesley residents. Find your sense of belonging at Wesley!

You will provide continuing care through these responsibilities

Essential functions of this position include the following.

  • Administer servers, desktop computers, routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP phones, smartphones, software deployments, and oversee all system configurations.
  • Installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of system servers, desktops, storage arrays, UPS and datacenter related systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing upgrades to IT infrastructure.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Responsible for capacity and storage planning.
  • Support helpdesk when needed as a third-tier role.
  • Complete on-call assignments according to rotation schedule.
  • Manage the administration of Active Directory user and group accounts, privileges, group policies and standard software configurations.
  • Management of System Backups and Recovery, System Process and technology improvements.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of Exchange, MS Office, IIS, DHCP and DNS servers, services and applications.
  • Patch management and network administration.
  • Administer and maintain systems utilizing vulnerability management systems in accordance with cyber security policies and best practices.
  • Any other duties and special projects assigned.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Vulnerability management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with certifications.

  • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft product lines and networking are desired.
  • Must enjoy working and communicating with aging adults.
  • Active Directory Management across multiple sites using multiple controllers.
  • Group Policy Management.
  • SQL Query writing.
  • Advanced Hyper V and/or VMWare (Backup, Replication, Clustering).
  • Firewall configurations (Routes, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting.
  • Excellent verbal written communication skills, including presentation and interpersonal skills with peers and managers.
  • Windows Server administration (Patching, Backup and Upgrade).
  • Experience with specialized software configurations.
  • Skilled in maintaining phone systems, data, voice hardware and software; investigates and resolves system issues; researches, analyzes, isolates and resolves errors.
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Advanced M365 administration.
  • Experience using a patching system.
  • 4-5 years of database, network administration and system administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, Hyper-V and/or VMware.
  • Working knowledge of networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • Experience with automation tools.
  • Experience supporting and configuring PBX/VOIP communication systems.
  • A proven history of implementing IT strategy and plans.
  • Experience implementing operational best practices.
  • Knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Experience working with a ticketing system.
  • Change management experience a plus.
  • Experience with network and phone cabling (Testing and Tracing).
  • Experience managing I.T. projects with vendors and internal staff.
  • Experience supporting MS Office suite utilizing MS Outlook with Exchange online and on-premise.
  • Driving is an essential function and/or a legitimate business purpose of this position; therefore, a valid driver's license is required as a condition of employment.

  • Ability to commute across communities.
