Job description

At Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) we build services which enhance customer experience and provide digital experiences. ETS focuses on building services while providing members benefits with it digital with technology is at its center. As a software engineer on our team, you will be responsible for building and optimizing scalable backend systems using Java 21, Spring Boot, and other enterprise frameworks to contribute to various capabilities in ETS. You will also work closely with other engineers and product teams to implement state-of-the-art solutions for Enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a team of engineers to design, build, test and deploy.

  • Actively participate in the various internal engineering forums to learn from others as well as educate others.

  • Familiar with Agile development methodologies - proactively provides updates on work, raise issues, collaborate with other engineers as needed., We back our colleagues with the support they need to thrive, professionally and personally. Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite, in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days) or fully virtually.

Requirements

  • Desirable to have cloud experience and Microservice architecture.

  • Desirable to have experience with performance and monitoring tools e.g. Splunk, and Dynatrace.

  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), GitHub Actions, processes for services.

  • Aptitude for learning and applying new technologies and translate them into working software.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving/quantitative skills.

  • Communicates effectively with Technical, Operational, and Product colleagues.

  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, and results driven.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java 17/21, Spring, Vert.x related frameworks.

  • Familiarity with data structures, multi-threading, data caching and processing with technologies like JSON.

  • Ability to understand performance issues with applications and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

  • Ability to adapt to new Technical Stack and be hands on for coding and reviewing peer's code.
