Job description

The Project Manager will lead the governance and implementation of cybersecurity standards across a broad and complex application landscape inherited from multiple mergers. This includes legacy systems, off-the-shelf software, and internally developed cloud-hosted applications. The primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with established group cybersecurity policies by coordinating audits, managing documentation, and closing security gaps., * Interpret and translate group-level cybersecurity policies into actionable internal processes and documentation.

  • Lead the assessment and validation of applications against cybersecurity standards in areas such as identity and access management, threat and vulnerability management, patch management, security logging, and incident management.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and technical teams to verify compliance, track remediation efforts, and ensure proper documentation of security controls.
  • Develop and propose a structured project plan, including prioritization of applications based on risk and criticality, scheduling reviews, and defining roles and responsibilities.
  • Act as a governance overseer ( "policeman "), ensuring that teams follow processes and deliver required audit evidence and documentation.
  • Facilitate communication and meetings among stakeholders, including IT, security teams, and business units dispersed across different locations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management with a focus on IT or cybersecurity governance projects.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, and standards (e.g., identity and Access management, vulnerability management, incident response), though certification is not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with software application development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure), as well as off-the-shelf software environments.
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and legacy systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to translate technical standards into clear internal Policies and coordinate efforts effectively.
  • Experience with documentation oversight, audit processes, and compliance enforcement.
  • Comfortable working remotely and coordinating teams across multiple geographies, primarily in Austin, NY, and Chicago.

Preferred but Not Mandatory :

  • Background in software development or IT infrastructure to better understand technical requirements.
  • Exposure to tools like SailPoint (identity/access management) and ServiceNow (incident management) is a plus.
