About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced IT Quality and Testing Professional to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that software, systems, applications, and IT processes meet high standards of quality, reliability, performance, and usability.This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on experience in software testing, quality assurance, defect management, and test planning.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Perform functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance, and performance testing.Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.Work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements.Ensure software releases meet agreed quality standards before deployment.Support UAT activities and provide guidance to business users where required.Analyse test results and produce clear testing reports.Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and quality standards.Ensure testing aligns with project timelines, business requirements, and technical specifications.Maintain accurate documentation across the testing lifecycle.Skills and Experience RequiredPrevious experience in software testing, QA, or IT quality assurance.Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and testing lifecycle.Experience creating test plans, test scripts, test cases, and defect reports.Knowledge of manual testing techniques.Experience using defect tracking or test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar.Ability to understand technical and business requirements.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desirable SkillsExperience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or similar.Knowledge of API testing.Experience with SQL or database testing.Understanding of Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall delivery methods.ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification.Experience in cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or enterprise application testing.Personal AttributesQuality-focused and detail-oriented.Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.Proactive approach to identifying risks and issues.Comfortable challenging assumptions and improving processes.Strong ownership mindset.BenefitsCompetitive salary.[Hybrid / remote working options].Pension scheme.Training and development opportunities.Career progression.Supportive and collaborative working environment.[Add any company-specific benefits].How to ApplyPlease apply with your CV and a short cover note outlining your experience in IT quality assurance, software testing, and defect management.
