Job description

We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to support the District's day-to-day technology operations. The ideal candidate will provide technical support for Microsoft 365 services, networking, endpoint devices, and user support while assisting with maintaining reliable and secure IT systems across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end-users, and working in a fast-paced IT environment., Microsoft 365 Administration & Support

  • Provide administration and support for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, and group memberships within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory/Azure AD (Entra ID).
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 issues including email delivery, authentication, account access, synchronization, and application support.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features including MFA and account security best practices.

Networking & Infrastructure Support

  • Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues for end-users and district devices.
  • Maintain basic network documentation and assist with IT infrastructure projects.

Help Desk & Endpoint Support

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and operating systems.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Install, configure, and deploy computers, printers, and other district technology equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve escalated technical issues with minimal supervision.

General IT Support

  • Assist with software installation, system updates, and preventative maintenance.
  • Support audiovisual and conference room technology as needed.
  • Maintain inventory records and documentation for district technology assets.
  • Assist with cybersecurity and endpoint protection initiatives.
  • Participate in technology upgrades, deployments, and special IT projects.

Requirements

Do you have experience in IT department experience?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent work experience in Information Technology or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of IT support, help desk, or systems support experience.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments is required.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) user management.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, switches, wireless networking, and VPN connectivity.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows operating systems, hardware, and software issues independently.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management and ticketing systems.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to support non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft 365, CompTIA, or Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Experience supporting government, municipal, or educational environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems, backup systems, or virtualization platforms is a plus.

Work Hours:

As a full-time employee of the District, this position may be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (weekly hours may vary based on the workload and needs of the department). This schedule is subject to change as required to meet the needs of the District. Must be willing to work overtime and/or alternate schedules as required.
