- Configure and manage network hardware including Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Juniper devices, and Meraki solutions to optimize security and performance.
- Implement advanced network security protocols such as Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and encryption standards to protect against cyber threats.
- Monitor network health using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; perform vulnerability assessments; conduct regular system hardening; and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Manage network protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IPsec, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), DNS (Domain Name System), NFS (Network File System), and load balancing techniques to ensure high availability.
- Oversee virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, Citrix, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure for scalable infrastructure deployment.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, Python, and Ansible to streamline system administration processes.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * Extensive knowledge of computer networking principles including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and Ethernet standards.
- Proficiency with operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, openSUSE), BSD variants, macOS, and Solaris.
- Experience configuring and managing firewalls including Cisco ASA devices; implementing SSO (Single Sign-On) solutions; setting up high availability clusters; and performing system hardening practices.
- Familiarity with network security tools like LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), SAML authentication methods, VPNs (IPsec & SSL/TLS), SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols for secure data transfer.
- Ability to perform vulnerability assessments using tools like SolarWinds or Splunk; conduct regular system updates; manage GPOs (Group Policy Objects); and support disaster recovery plans.
- Strong background in IT infrastructure management including SANs (Storage Area Networks), RAID controllers for data redundancy; managing VMware vSphere environments; and deploying open-source solutions such as Nagios or Zabbix for monitoring.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices involving scripting automation with Bash or PowerShell; familiarity with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle); experience supporting network engineering projects within Agile frameworks.
