Job description

We are looking for a Data Architect to join Kyndryl's Applications, Data & AI (ADAI) practice, supporting strategic enterprise data transformation initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The ideal candidate combines strong architecture expertise with hands-on delivery experience designing modern, scalable, and governed data platforms.

This role will be responsible for defining end-to-end data architectures, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and leading implementation teams to deliver enterprise-grade data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and define enterprise-scale data architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable data platform strategies and implementation roadmaps.

  • Design modern data ecosystems including data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, and real-time processing solutions.

  • Lead and mentor data engineering teams during implementation and delivery phases.

  • Ensure solutions follow enterprise security, compliance, governance, and data quality standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms and architectures.

  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Composer, and Vertex AI.

  • Proven expertise in modern data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse patterns.

  • Experience leading technical teams and coordinating implementation activities.

  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration, and data integration patterns.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Terraform, or Databricks.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DataOps practices.

  • Knowledge of analytics and visualization platforms such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.

  • Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect are highly valued.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving mindset.
