We are seeking a control engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of control systems and algorithms for next-generation haptic actuators and experiences. Come join us!, As a Haptics Control Architect, you will lead the technical vision and development of advanced control systems that define the next generation of haptic experiences across Apple's product ecosystem. You will architect sophisticated control algorithms and frameworks that manage complex actuator dynamics, setting the technical direction for haptic systems while ensuring they meet exceptional standards for performance, reliability, and user experience. Characterize and validate haptic module and system performance
Perform system modeling and simulation
Prototype bring-up, debug and characterization
Define factory test requirements for haptic system
Author engineering requirements and specifications
Communicating cross-functionally and throughout management structure (written, verbal, and presentation)
Perform failure mode analysis and problem solving
International travel to support the product development
Requirements
Do you have experience in Signal processing?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Hands-on experience in control system design, analysis, implementation, and validation
Track record of driving technical decisions and alignment across diverse engineering functions
Familiarity with modeling electro-mechanical system
Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and C/C++
Experience with electromagnetic or piezoelectric actuators is a plus
Experience with high volume mass production is a plus
Knowledge of micro controller or embedded hardware/software is a plus
Knowledge of state-space techniques is a plus
Knowledge of nonlinear control technique is a plus
Experience with AI/ML-based control system design is a plus
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent with a specialization in control engineering
Minimum Qualifications
BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
Strong background in control engineering, dynamics, and signal processing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team Oriented: must be able to thrive in collaborative cross-functional environments

The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
