Job description
Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer. This position will support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Account as a Java Application Software Developer. These developers collaborate with business analysts, testers, and stakeholders to implement features, resolve issues, and optimize system performance. Responsibilities include coding, debugging, testing, and deploying software, with a focus on data quality, interoperability, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements. VLER Developers adhere to modern development practices while ensuring that the system continues to support seamless data sharing and operational goals critical to mission success.
- Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensures software standards are met.
- Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
- Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
- Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Weblogic?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS diploma
- Requires U.S. Citizenship
- Must have current/active DoD Public Trust
- Must have Security + certification.
- Cloud development experience.
- Must have hands-on experience developing Java EE applications on WebLogic Application Server
- In-depth knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems
- Strong understanding and working knowledge on Software Development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum)

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
