Job description
- Design and execute new products for Missy & Junior markets using trend/market research, comp shopping; and analyze past sales to update existing styles.
- Research and stay up-to-date with seasonal trends
- Present sketches and design ideas to using CADs and collection linesheets
- Update seasonal trend board and line sheets
- Source and select fabrics, yarns, prints, patterns, trims and embellishments to achieve designs for different price points
- Create development tech packs that include flat sketches with detailed explanations, measurements, fabric and trims
- Approve and catalogue trims, fabrics, prints and samples from development through production
- Prepare samples/presentation and attend sales meeting with buyers
- Communicate with buyers, create picture packets and send samples to buyers in order to achieve sales goals
- Attend fittings to ensure proper fit and aesthetic
- Coordinate with technical designers to make sure all production requirements such as colors, trims, fabric quality, accessories, packaging and fit are met
- Attend Design meetings to accomplish seasonal direction and calendar
- Generate e-commerce worksheets
Requirements
Do you have experience in Productivity software?, Contemporary garment manufacturer is seeking an Apparel Designer to join our team. Applicant should be very self motivated, possess a willingness to learn, well organized and detail conscious. Sweater manufacturing knowledge is a plus., * Minimum 7 years of design experience, sweater experience preferred
- Minimum AA degree in fashion design required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Ability to understand garment constructions and designs from a technical perspective
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Reliable, detail oriented and well organized
- Strong communication and follow through skills
